About Us
Together We Build A Better Tomorrow
Shankha Foundation
Based in Kolkata, Shankha Foundation is a registered trust founded by Ranjit Das in 2020, built on the belief that serving humanity is serving the Almighty. Inspired by the timeless teachings of Swami Vivekananda, we are committed to uplifting underprivileged communities through compassionate, sustainable social work. Our focus lies in three core pillars — education, healthcare, and food security — ensuring that every individual, regardless of background, has access to basic human dignity and opportunity. As a non-profit organisation rooted in selfless service, we work closely with communities to identify real needs and create meaningful, lasting impact. For Shankha Foundation, charity isn’t an occasional act — it’s a continuous commitment to building a more equal, compassionate, and empowered society for all.
About Shankha Foundation
Mission
To serve the underprivileged with dignity by ensuring access to food, education, healthcare, and shelter — transforming compassion into real, lasting change.
Vision
A society where no child goes uneducated, no family goes hungry, and no person is denied healthcare or hope — regardless of their circumstance.
Objectives
To provide food, healthcare, education, and shelter to the underprivileged, while building sustainable institutions — schools, hospitals, and homes — that empower lasting community transformation.
The Sun in our emblem represents strength, hope, enlightenment, and new beginnings. Just as the Sun removes darkness and gives life, we strive to bring dignity, opportunities, and positive change to those in need.
In Indian tradition, the Shankha (conch) marks an auspicious beginning. In the Mahabharata, the sacred blowing of the conch symbolized righteousness, courage, and the triumph of truth over evil. Inspired by this powerful symbolism, Shankha Foundation has adopted the conch as its emblem, representing a noble journey of service to humanity.
We are dedicated to supporting the underprivileged, vulnerable, and distressed with empathy and respect, believing that true worship lies in serving people with love, compassion, and selfless dedication.
